Softlink expands global presence in Higher Education sector
Maldives - Softlink, Australia's world leading provider of library management solutions announced today that the Maldives College of Higher Education (MCHE) has successfully implemented Liberty SQL, Softlink's fully multilingual, web-based library system.
Softlink has a strong and growing international presence in the Higher Education sector in the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, India, Thailand and Australia, including a recent implementation for Curtin University in Sydney. Softlink's most recent success with MCHE further extends its position in this sector.
Liberty3 SQL was chosen by MCHE to integrate its five library branches and two college campuses. "Using Liberty3, we have successfully created a union catalogue. It is now very easy for staff and users to identify the resources held at each branch", said Aishath Shabana, Deputy Librarian at the MCHE. In the future, the interlibrary loan capability of Liberty3 SQL will be specifically used to involve the College's island campuses more actively in the library and information services of MCHE.
"We are very happy with Liberty3. The system is easy to use, intuitive and flexible, and Softlink has proven their commitment to helping us in every way possible. The support and training services have been outstanding", said Aishath.
"MCHE, like many higher education institutions around the world, needed a robust, fully multi-lingual solution that could operate fully through a Web Browser. Implementing their local language was very easy, due to the advanced software design", said Chris McPhee Softlink's Technical Product Manager. "Of course, the opportunity to visit this island paradise was an added benefit."
Bob Dunne, Softlink's CEO welcomes MCHE to Softlink's global community. "MCHE had confidence that Softlink would deliver, and that distance would not present any problem for a smooth implementation. Our team worked closely with MCHE to ensure that their needs were met."
"We are focused on continuing our expansion in the global Higher Education sector in the months and years ahead", said Paul Watts, Softlink's Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing Manager.
