Raising the Profile of Libraries in Industry and Government
Softlink's CEO Elected as Queensland AIIA Deputy Chairman
Brisbane, Australia - Bob Dunne, Softlink's CEO has been elected Deputy Chairman of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) Committee in Queensland.
Bob Dunne is co-founder of Softlink and has been a member of the local business community for over 20 years. Bob has been active in exporting Softlink's library management software to over 100 countries and will work with the AIIA to support the Australian information and communications technology (ICT) industry.
"I am a great believer that Australian software companies can be world leaders. I have joined the committee to work on solutions to issues facing the local IT industry, including the increasing complexity of software systems and the reduced availability of skilled staff. If the Australian industry is to compete successfully on an international scale, we need to deal with these and other major issues," said Bob.
Bob's appointment to the AIIA will assist his discussions with government on the importance of libraries to the future prosperity of the country.
