Hosting our International Librarians – ICML August 2009
Australia will host the 10th International Congress on Medical Librarianship (ICML) later this month. As a software partner to medical libraries worldwide, Softlink is proud to support the prestigious event in its hometown, at the Brisbane Convention Centre on 31 August to 4th September.
This year’s conference has an exciting line-up of local and international presenters, including Dr Donald A.B. Lindberg from the National Library of Medicine and former Australian of the Year recipient (2006) Professor Ian Frazer. A number of Softlink’s health library customers will be represented at the event, including organisations from the US, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Sally Toms and Adele Miles from North Coast Area Health Services, a Softlink Liberty customer, will also be presenting on Australia: Meeting the Challenges in information service provision for rural health professionals.
Themed Positioning the Profession, the conference will offer up to 1,000 delegates the latest research and innovative solutions from the field of health librarianship and related industries. The event also includes a showcase of new products and services, where Softlink will present Liberty, the web-based information management solution for health libraries. Softlink’s Liberty client base comprises of a number of health-industry libraries and organisations, including Bridgeport Hospital and the US Pharmacopeia in the US, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and the Lakes District Health Board in New Zealand, Roche Products and the Alzheimer’s Society London in the UK, Blackmores and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Council in Australia.
