Softlink's Hosting Services a hit with schools

Tuesday, May 17 2011

St Hilda's school on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia has jumped at the chance of having their new Oliver v5 Library Management system hosted by Softlink's Professional Services.

Ms Robyn Markus-Sandgren, St Hilda's Library Manager, says that Softlink's products and services has played a key role in helping them stay at the forefront of library technology.
"We are seeking to improve our library services all the time and central to this improvement is the ongoing maintenance, upgrading and management of library technology. Softlink's Oliver v5 system has provided interactivity in an online library environment, and inspired our students and staff who have previously not used the library, to utilise our services," she said.
"For a library catalogue to compete in a Google search world, it must be easy to use and work intuitively, and we have found Oliver v5 does this."
While Oliver v5 provides a range of features to bring school libraries up to date with the internet and smart phone technology, the experience is more inclusive with the use of Softlink's Hosting Services, according to Ms Robyn-Markus-Sandgren.
"I would highly recommend Softlink's Hosting Services because we find very few IT or library staff can offer the kind of expertise or support and development that come with having Oliver on a hosted environment. We look forward to where technology is taking libraries now, because we are confident, with Softlink's products and support, that we will have all the expertise and knowledge to undertake innovation and change.
"Softlink services lead the way in solving problems and changes of growth and development in the provision of better library services."
Mr John Crook, Softlink's Director of Professional Services, manages a number of professionals who offer a range of services to assist Softlink users with their individual systems.
"We have assisted a wide variety of schools and organisations with our services ranging from on-site training, hosting, data conversion, project management, and customisation services," he said.
"We work in partnership with each individual school library to deliver a tailored service experience for staff and students."
Softlink has been a provider of world-leading Library Management Systems for over 27 years, and their library solutions are currently being used in over 50% of Australian school libraries.
