2013 Australian School Library Survey

Since 2010 the Australian School Library Survey has advocated the role of school libraries, teacher librarians and librarians around Australia.

Libraries help improve literacy and learning!


Thanks to the thousands of schools that have participated in the survey during the past four years, the industry has proven there is a positive link between student achievement and a well-resourced library.

Findings from past surveys have been recognised by the Australian Parliament, the Australian School Library Association (ASLA), the Australian Library and Information Association and been printed in various school library journals and blogs across the world. This year the survey has been extended to ensure further information to support the industry.

Why Softlink involvement?


Softlink commenced the survey in 2010 to represent and advocate the industry's value in the Parliamentary 'Inquiry into School Libraries and Teacher Librarians'.  Since then we have continued to represent and support the industry through advocacy efforts through the Softlink School Library Advocacy Unit.
